2,500 km of centralized heating networks in a state of disrepair

At the AIMC press conference with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, it was reported that 2500 km of central heating networks are in emergency condition, losses in the network are 35-40%.
It was noted that there are only 38,382 apartment buildings in the country, of which 19,490 are supplied with thermal energy through centralized and local boiler houses, individual heating boilers, autonomous and Dutch stoves. The remaining 8,892 apartment buildings use other heating equipment and homemade heaters.
Today, out of 578 boilers at the balance sheet of the ministry, 500 of them operate in the country. 2,500 km of centralized heating networks are in a state of disrepair, and losses in the networks average 35-40%.
It was noted that the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to ensure the preparation of the economy, social facilities and apartment buildings for sustainable operation in the 2021/2022 autumn-winter period” was developed and submitted to the Government by the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services for approval.
According to the project, the following measures have been planned for heating and drinking water supply facilities:
- overhaul of 28 and current repair of 66 centralized and local boiler houses;
- overhaul and current repair of 930 boilers of various brands;
- overhaul and current repair of 746.9 km of heating networks.
