The new initiatives will promote environmentally sound measures, the organization said.
The First Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Jürgen Rigterink, will visit Uzbekistan on June 7-9, Spot reports with reference to the organization’s press service.
During the visit, Rigterink will attend the opening ceremony of the EBRD’s new regional office in Urgench. He will also sign infrastructure and financial sector project agreements and launch several initiatives that will promote environmentally sound measures and help Uzbekistan achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
The First Vice President of the EBRD will meet with senior management of the country’s business partners, major international investors and local representatives of international financial institutions.
To date, the EBRD has invested more than 2 billion euros in 92 projects in the economy of Uzbekistan.
