Khayrulla Umarov heads External Labor Migration Agency

Khayrulla Umarov has been appointed head of the External Labor Migration Agency under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan.
Prior to his appointment, Umarov had served as the first deputy head of the Agency.
This is the third time the leadership of the Agency changes in the past year and a half. Bakhtiyor Tursunov joined the agency in late 2019 after the arrest of former head Ravshan Ibragimov. He resigned in the spring of 2020 and was replaced by Muhammadzokir Mamatkhonov. When Muhammadzokir Mamatkhonov took office in February 2021 as the governor of the Uychi district of Namangan region, the agency’s leadership became vacant.
