SSS officers detain a 52-year-old man in Jizzakh for insulting the President
In the Bakhmal district of Jizzakh region, officers of the State Security Service detained a man who insulted the President on social networks.
As the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office reported, a 52-year-old resident of the Bakhmal district opened an account on Facebook and Youtube under the nickname “V.K.”. It is noted that he organized live performances.
“In the course of his speeches, he misinterpreted the reforms carried out by the President of the country. He insulted the head of state, slandered him and disseminated information that negatively affected the President’s reputation,” the message reads.
Employees of the Jizzakh regional SSS Department opened a criminal case under Article 158 of the Criminal Code.
It should be noted that public insult or slander against the President is punishable by up to three years of correctional labor, or two to five years of liberty restriction, or up to five years of imprisonment.
