Airfield construction begins in Sokh district
An area of 4.5 hectares was allocated for the airfield on the territory of the “Novobod” mahalla.
The construction of an airfield has begun in the Sokh district, the press service of the Fergana region khokimiyat reported.
Sokh exclave is an administrative-territorial unit of the Fergana region, located inside Kyrgyzstan. In August last year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on measures for the comprehensive socio-economic development of the territory, which includes the creation of an airfield.
According to the press service, 4.5 hectares of land was allocated for the facility in the “Novobod” mahalla.
The runway will be 650 meters long and one hundred meters wide. The project will cost 12 billion soums, the work is planned to be completed by May.
