Government to allocate 10 trillion soums for social protection in 2021
This is about 5% of the total budget expenditure.

The money will be used for paying pensions, providing financial assistance to low-income families and people with disabilities, as well as for housing and utilities. It is planned to increase the number of social pension receivers to 1.2 million next year (which is 2 times more than this year), Xpress.uz reports.
In 2020, more than half of the state budget – 52.4% – is allocated for social spending. The total cost of pensions, financial assistance and compensation for low-income families amounted to 8.5 trillion soums.
