“We need to provide housing for 54,000 families in 2021” – President

In order to meet the needs of the population, it is necessary to build at least 100-150 thousand houses a year. This was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a videoconference on March 3.
“Over the past four years, 140,000 (on average 35,000 a year) houses have been built under government programs. But this is not enough.
According to estimates, in order to fully meet the population’s needs for housing, it is necessary to build at least 100-150 thousand houses a year,” Kun.uz correspondent quoted Shavkat Mirziyoyev as saying.
A new draft decree on housing has been prepared.
The decree envisages, most importantly, the provision of housing for all segments of the population and the expansion of their choice in this regard.
First, 54,000 families need to be provided with housing this year.
In particular, a total of 45,000 houses will be built under the state mortgage program or twice as many as last year.
In addition, 1,000 families, especially women, who are homeless or in difficult conditions will be provided with “social housing” on a rental basis.
