President awards rector of MGIMO with the Dustlik Order
Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree on awarding the rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Anatoly Torkunov, with the Order Dustlik (Friendship), the presidential press service informs.

The Order was awarded to Anatoly Torkunov for his personal contribution to the strengthening of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia, fruitful humanitarian cooperation over many years and support for the implementation of long-term programs of academic and scientific-educational exchange, as well as direct participation in the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of international relations and economy.
To note, the opening ceremony of the MGIMO branch, the first foreign branch of the university, was held in Tashkent on December 9, 2019. Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia have signed the respective document in October 2018.
