“Forecasts of specialists differ. If we compare this infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), which caused an epidemic in 2002, it can be assumed that the situation will probably be dangerous for several months,” he said.
According to him, if the virus has a seasonal aspect, then a new wave of infections should be expected with the onset of autumn.
“A new study, which has not yet been licensed, shows that 95% of infections occurred at temperatures from -2 to +10 degrees. This indicates the activeness of the virus in colder climates,” Otabekov added.
In Uzbekistan, the number of coronavirus infection cases on Thursday rose to 190. 12 patients have completely recovered, two more died.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), on the evening of April 1, the number of people infected with the new coronavirus in the world exceeded 823.6 thousand people.
