Currently, the prevalence of seasonal diseases has increased in Uzbekistan as well as in most countries. This process is especially difficult for children.

What is the epidemiological situation related to the spread of acute respiratory diseases in Uzbekistan? The press service of the Health Ministry addressed Nurmat Otabekov, the first deputy chairman of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Peace and Public Health Committee with this question.
“The point is that we should try to break the chain of spread of acute respiratory infections. There are three important links in the spread of the disease: the source of the disease, the route of transmission, and the organism prone to infection. If we send infected children to school, kindergarten, public places, they will continue to infect others.
All of us are susceptible to acute respiratory diseases, in particular, the flu.
Therefore, we advise parents not to send their children with symptoms of illness to kindergartens, schools, and higher education institutions. In this case, it is advisable to carry out the necessary procedures at home based on the doctor’s instructions.
In addition, in all infectious disease hospitals in our country, a place for patients and a reserve of necessary medicines have been created.
There are rumors among the population that “this is a new pandemic” about the flu season. These statements are completely unfounded. Needless to say, this is not even an epidemic.
The fact that the spread of acute respiratory diseases is recorded more often in our capital and in some regions of our country cannot be the basis for the fact that the spread of the disease has reached the epidemic threshold.
For this reason, we do not see sufficient reason to stop the educational process in educational institutions.
In the current situation, our task is to isolate patients, keep them away from public places!
Patients must always wear a medical mask during communication, maintain social distance, and strictly follow personal hygiene.
It should also be remembered that vaccination against the disease is an effective way to fight against it! Before the season, a sufficient number of influenza vaccines have been prepared in our country. At the moment, private vaccination centers also have three types of influenza vaccines,” the expert said.
