Uzbek citizens living abroad may be able to apply for biometric passport at diplomatic offices

The MFA of Uzbekistan is carrying out systematic work to improve the process of issuing a biometric passport for citizens living abroad.

According to the press service of the MFA, from March 1, Uzbek citizens living in the CIS countries and registered with the consulate will be able to get a biometric passport for traveling abroad at the diplomatic and consular offices of the republic in these countries.

At the same time, citizens of Uzbekistan can fill out an electronic application form through a web portal to get a biometric passport for travelling abroad and make an appointment (to submit biographical data and biometric parameters).

“Also, the relevant departments are working on the phased implementation of the passport registration system in other foreign countries, compatriots will be informed in a timely manner,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.

In addition, on March 1, an interactive consular registration system was developed, so that citizens of Uzbekistan may pass all required stages without going to diplomatic or consular offices of our country.
