Turkish Statistical Institute has released its report for 2019, which contains detailed information on marriages and divorces.
In 2019, a total of 1,550 Uzbek girls got married to Turkish citizens. Also, 11 Uzbek citizens married Turkish women.
In Turkey, the number of people who got married in 2019 was 541,442. In 2018, this figure was 554,389, so in 2019 this number decreased by 2.3 percent. The ratio of marriages was 6.56 per thousand.
In 2018, the number of divorced couples was 143,573, but by 2019 the figure had grown by 8.0% to 155,447. The ratio of divorces was 1.88 per thousand.
In 2019, the number of brides from abroad in the country was 23,264, which is 4.3% of the total number of brides, and the number of grooms was 4,580 (0.8% of the total number).
Syrian brides constitute 14.5% of all foreign brides and, therefore, ranked first. The second and third places are occupied by Azerbaijani and German brides, with 11.7% and 10.5% respectively.
