On December 20, 2019, the delegation of Uzbekistan, consisting of Advisor to the President Rustam Qosimov and Deputy Prime Minister Elyor Ganiev, met with the Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad.
The head of the Malaysian government conveyed thanks to the leadership of Uzbekistan for sending a representative delegation to attend the Kuala Lumpur Summit.
He praised the political and socio-economic reforms under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Malaysian side was informed about the ongoing work in the country to revive and preserve national and religious values, study and promote the rich scientific-spiritual heritage of great Muslim scholars and thinkers, and strengthen religious tolerance.
In this context, the PM of Malaysia expressed interest in establishing cooperation between the research centers of the two countries through implementation of joint projects to study the rich heritage of Islam.
The parties noted their commitment to further building up multifaceted cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
