The Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of Canada for the European Union and Europe, former Foreign Minister Stéphane Dion, will arrive in Uzbekistan on Thursday, the MFA press service said.

The program of the visit includes negotiations in the Oliy Majlis, ministries of foreign affairs and water management. The parties will discuss the prospects for bilateral relations, interregional cooperation, as well as measures to save the Aral Sea.

In addition, the foreign delegation and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) are organizing a seminar on the topic “Water Resources and Diplomacy” at the Poytaxt Business Center. Students and teachers of UWED, as well as a number of specialists, will take part in it.

Stéphane Dion also plans to visit the Yurt-Istiqboli Republican Social Information Center in Gulistan, where a seminar-training on the issues of gender equality will be held with participation of youth activists.
