Expenses of low-income families for the purchase of bread to be compensated from the state budget

The amount of compensation payments to low-income families has been increased to cover their expenses for the purchase of flour and bread, the Finance Ministry said.

Previously, it amounted to 10% of the base calculating amount (22,300 soums), but from October 1, 2019, it increased up to 50,000 soums per month. This applies to 1.7 million people.

Moreover, the number of categories of recipients increased from 9 to 11. Thanks to this, from October 1, compensations are additionally assigned and paid to another 64,900 citizens and 218,100 families.

Considering the growth in payments, the Ministry of Finance approved the allocation of additional funds in the amount of 189 billion soums for recipients for the period from October to December inclusive.

In general, in 2019, 604 billion soums were allocated from the State Budget for the payment of compensations.

Specialists of the Pension Fund, according to the schedule, carry out daily monitoring of the payment process with field visits. Those who have not received compensation can apply directly to the Fund.

Materials on the revealed cases of violations are transferred to law enforcement bodies for taking further necessary measures.

Citizens can apply for compensation through the helplines of the Pension Fund (1140) and JSC People’s Bank (1106), the press service of the Pension Fund reminds.
