Manilov led the council’s delegation at the 7th scientific-practical conference of the RATS SCO, which was opened on Wednesday in Tashkent.
“The 5th regional meeting will be held in March 2020 in Uzbekistan with participation of the heads of CIS border agencies from the Central Asian region. It is also planned to invite representatives of the Afghan border agencies,” Manilov said on the sidelines of the conference. The previous meeting was held in February 2019 in Dushanbe.
He noted that over the past year, the dynamics associated with terrorist threats have not undergone major changes.
“On the contrary, there are elements that cause concern, especially in Afghanistan,” the Colonel-General noted.
Manilov said that it is also planned to invite representatives from the National Defense and Security Forces of Afghanistan to the meeting.
“In order to jointly discuss the current situation, these measures are being taken from the other side and, accordingly, from our side. There is hope that these joint measures will lead to a positive result,” Manilov stated.
He also said that the Afghan issue will also be considered in April 2020 in Armenia at the next meeting of the CIS CCBT.
