On October 31, a meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis took place. The report of the Cabinet of Ministers on implementation of the State Program on realization of the Actions Strategy on five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, in the third quarter, was heard at it.

“Why are domestic flights not enough? Why should a person traveling to Karakalpakstan have to worry about his return? Why does a tourist arriving in Uzbekistan have to wait for weeks to visit the Savitsky museum? Or why should our citizens queue for an expensive ticket to Khiva as part of domestic tourism? When will these questions be resolved? How do we respond to people's discontent about this?” the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, the head of the faction of “Milliy tiklanish” Democratic Party, Alisher Kodirov said.

Speaking at the meeting, Alisher Kadirov noted that the government's accountability to parliamentarians is a very good practice. According to him, today demands are increasing in the society and there are more and more questions for the political party, parliament and deputies.

“The people's trust begins with the solution of their problems. The most urgent need today is to explain the essence of the problem in a clear and understandable way. But as deputies and party members we cannot say that we are satisfied with our work. We cannot effectively organize our work with the government.

Today a lot of questions have been received, the answers to them were also provided to some extent. However, it cannot be said that we work effectively together to solve these problems. The “Milliy tiklanish” party alone at all meetings of its fractions asks questions to the government regarding the Ministries of Transport, Education and Medicine. However, we still cannot give solutions to these issues to our voters and convey to the electorate.

In its program, the party calls tourism development one of its main tasks. We raised this issue more than once. For example, why the Ministry of Transport cannot fully satisfy the needs? How should we respond to people's complaints about these issues? We are only talking about their solution, nothing more. At today's meeting, we did not even see a representative of the Ministry of Transport,” Kun.uz correspondent quoted Alisher Kadirov as saying.
