A meeting of the Uzbek-Russian Business Council was held on October 1 in Tashkent. During the meeting, parties discuss further measures to expand trade-economic partnership.
According to the deputy head of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Vladimir Padalko, Uzbekistan today ranks first among foreign markets for Russian exporters of non-primary and non-energy products.
“I want to emphasize that neither China nor Germany, but Uzbekistan is the most attractive country for our manufacturers. Last year, Russian export to the republic grew by 26.5%, and over the first seven months of this year – by more than 13%. In many ways, this is due to economic reforms carried out by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Our businessmen understand that it is profitable for them to invest in projects, they feel protected,” the representative of the Russian CCI said.
At the same time, according to him, the Business Council has many tasks. First of all, Padalko noted, it is necessary to expand interaction and support for medium and small businesses of the two countries. Family business, which can effectively cooperate at the regional level, needs special attention.
