Social networks spread information that lists of schoolgirls in headscarves are being compiled in Kokand.

According to the press service of the city administration of Kokand, the relevant departments made lists of schoolgirls to keep certain monitoring.

“Lists are compiled in order to find out what schoolgirls are interested in. For example, one girl is interested in culture, the other is in ICT. In addition, we try to ensure that schoolgirls who wear headscarves are not involved in the activities of various extremist organizations. We want to explain the essence of religion to them,” the press service said.

The formed list is intended to be handed over to the mahalla gatherings of citizens, so that they, together with their parents, pay special attention to upbringing children.

“The list has been compiled so that schools, mahallas and parents bring up children in cooperation. There is nothing negative in it,” the administration concluded.

The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to provide a modern school uniform for pupils of secondary public educational institutions” states that pupils are prohibited to attend public schools in headgear, unless they are necessary during various events at schools.
