Ikhtiyor Abdullayev’s case: The former SSS deputy chairman was sentenced to 16 years and a former adviser to 17 years

On September 27, the Military Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced the verdict over the former Chairman of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan Ikhtiyor Abdullayev and members of the criminal group established by him.

The closed trial lasted more than two months, during which the testimony of the defendants, more than 300 victims and witnesses was heard and analyzed. As a result, members of the criminal group, set up by Ikhtiyor Abdullayev, were also sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.

The Supreme Court's press service told Kun.uz that the military court sentenced former SSS Deputy Chairman Jakhongir Egamov to 16 years, former Adviser to the SSS Chairman Alisher Eshankhodjayev - 17 years, Ex-Deputy Prosecutor of Tashkent Yorkin Abdullayev - 14 years, former Deputy Head of HR Department at the Ministry of Justice Yusufboy Khodjayev - 8 years, former Deputy Prosecutor General Gayrat Hidoyatov - 5 years, Former Deputy Chairman of Supreme Court Bakhodir Dekhkanov - 5 years, Ex-Prosecutor of the Namangan region Ulugbek Toshev - 5 years. Each of the convicts, for a certain period of time, has been deprived of the right to work in a managerial positions associated with financial liabilities.
