The head of Google Maps Jen Fitzpatrick will visit Uzbekistan. This is reported in the Telegram channel of Kokand city administration.

According to the report, Fitzpatrick will visit the Fergana region as part of the upcoming International Festival of Applied Arts.

It is expected that during the visit she will get acquainted with the historical monuments and sights of the city in order to assist in promptly entering information about them into Google maps.

“This will help the guests of the festival, and then the tourists to better navigate the routes of Kokand,” the Kokand city administration said in a statement.

Jennifer Fitzpatrick is an American engineer. One of the first female engineers at Google, she is the senior vice president of engineering and product management for Google Geo product area.

She leads the product and engineering efforts for Google’s local products including local search, Google Places and Place pages. During her 11 years at Google, Jen has led software development for a wide variety of Google products and teams, including AdWords, Google News, Product Search, corporate engineering and the Google Search.
