Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov meets with compatriots living in Malaysia

On June 8, 2019, a regular meeting with compatriots living in Malaysia was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, which was attended by over 100 people, including students and faculty of universities, employees of leading companies, transnational corporations and international organizations, the press service of the MFA reports.

In his speech, Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov explained to the audience the main goals and objectives of the policy implemented in the country in the sphere of cooperation with compatriots living abroad and informed about the upcoming International Forum of Compatriots in Samarkand.

During the event, consultations were held to improve the legal culture of the citizens of Uzbekistan who are in Malaysia. In particular, information on changes and innovations in the passport system of the republic was brought in, consular and legal aspects of providing assistance to compatriots were discussed, and legal advice on Malaysian legislation was provided.

It was emphasized that in order to establish a direct dialogue with our citizens living in Malaysia, all the necessary conditions were created for contacting the Embassy, regardless of the reception hours of the consular department. Besides, a new platform - “Online Maslahat” was launched on the embassy’s website, special channel for direct contact in the social network Telegram is functioning.

In turn, compatriots noted the important need for regular holding of such meetings, presentations, round tables and other events with their participation in order to openly exchange views and inform about ongoing reforms in all spheres of life in Uzbekistan.

At the end of the meeting, participants were served a festive pilaf prepared on the occasion of Ramadan Hayit.
