A presidential decree was adopted on additional measures to improve the activities of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Justice Ministry reports.
According to the document, functions of the working body of interdepartmental commissions for the effective use of unexploited production facilities, as well as development of investment projects (roadmaps) to restore the production activities of vacant and unfinished construction facilities are assigned to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
The Ministry has been allocated an additional 70 full-time management personnel, including 5 full-time staff units, respectively, to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, investment departments and foreign trade departments of the regions and the city of Tashkent.
According to the decree, the following positions were introduced:
- deputy khokim – head of the Investments and Foreign Trade of the region and the city of Tashkent;
- deputy khokim – head of the Department of Investments and Foreign Trade of the district (city).
The decree abolished a number of posts in some regional, city, district administrations, in particular, the posts of deputy khokim on the issues of investment, innovation, assistance to privatized enterprises, free economic and small industrial zones, and development of tourism administrations of Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent and Khorezm regions were abolished.
Tasks for the development of small industrial zones in regions, districts (cities), and also development of industry in the city of Tashkent are assigned to the respective first deputy khokim on economics and entrepreneurship.
In addition, according to the resolution, the Center for development of investment projects is established and its main tasks and activities are defined. Its director is appointed by the government and his status is equalized to that of deputy minister’s under the terms of material security, social and transport services.
