Uzbekistan, New Zealand eye to boost trade-economic coopertaion

On May 15, 2019, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand with residence in Moscow Ian Alexander Hill.

According to the press service of the MFA, during the conversation, prospects for Uzbek-New Zealand cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields were discussed.

The parties stated that, despite the considerable geographical distance, Uzbekistan and New Zealand have significant potential for further development of relations in such areas as agriculture, alternative electric power, tourism, as well as in the field of education and science. In this regard, the readiness to jointly search for new ways to expand bilateral cooperation was confirmed.

The Ambassador thanked for organizing his meetings in the Ministries of Investment and Foreign Trade, Agriculture, as well as the Agency for Development of Viticulture and Winemaking, where it is planned to consider promising joint projects in specific areas.

At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
