The Netherlands eyes to implement infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan using advanced building technologies

On April 19, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in the Netherlands Dilyor Khakimov met with the Director General of the Dutch holding company Ballast Nedam Cenk Düzyol and representatives of the export credit agency, the press service of the MFA said.

The Dutch construction and engineering holding company Ballast Nedam is located in Nieuwegein, ranks 9th in Europe among the largest construction companies and leads projects in 26 countries. The most famous projects are: the “Federation Tower” in Moscow, the “Lakhta center” in St. Petersburg, the “Gotthard tunnel” in Switzerland, the Allianz tower in Istanbul, the Amsterdam town hall and the building of the Amsterdam opera theater. In addition, the company's infrastructure projects include ports, bridges, tunnels, car parks and pavement.

During the talks, the Dutch side assured its readiness to implement infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan, including in Namangan region. In particular, it confirmed its readiness to use advanced Dutch technologies and knowledge in the construction of residential complexes, hospitals, shopping centers, as well as industrial infrastructure facilities.

“In this regard, an agreement was reached on defining a specific project using various forms of financing, including public-private partnerships, as well as attracting capabilities of the Atradius credit agency. After defining and coordinating the project, representatives of Ballast Nedam will visit Uzbekistan for meetings and negotiations in the relevant ministries and departments of the republic,” the foreign ministry said.
