On April 17, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a regulation on the procedure for issuing an invitation and granting multiple entry visas to the Republic of Uzbekistan for compatriots living abroad and their family members, as well as their temporary registration by the internal affairs bodies.
The document states that in order to invite compatriots to Uzbekistan, the following documents should be submitted to the migration and citizenship offices:
- application form;
- passport of the inviting person;
- a document confirming the compatriot’s identity;
- a document confirming the kinship of the inviting citizen and the compatriot;
- if the compatriot is willing to visit with members of his family, then documents confirming their identity and relativity;
- two photos of the inviting person in the size of 3,5x4,5;
- receipt of payment of state duty (20,273 soums – 10% of the MMW).
The Department for migration and citizenship registration reviews documents within 3 business days. Then it sends the application for approval to the appropriate authority.
The Department for migration and citizenship registration, after consultation with the relevant authority and a positive decision, fills out the invitation and issues it to the inviter.
Terms of consideration of documents on the invitation should not exceed 15 working days.
The invitation is valid for 3 months. For issuing entry visas, the invitation, together with the following documents, is sent to the consular-legal department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or territorial departments of the Ministry:
- visa application;
- electronic application form from the website evisa.mfa.uz;
- a document confirming the compatriot’s identity;
- when applying for a visa upon arrival at the Tashkent International Airport, copies of airline tickets or reservations should also be provided;
- receipt of payment of state duty ($300).
Documents are reviewed within 5 business days and multiple entry visas “VTD” are issued. They are valid for 2 years.
It should be reminded that the inviting person should contact the department for migration and citizenship registration in order to apply for temporary registration of a compatriot, where a two-year registration is issued within 2 working days.
