On March 13, 2019, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia Sunaryo Kartadinata.
The Ambassador handed over copies of his credentials to the Minister.
During the conversation, it was noted that over the past two years, the Uzbek-Indonesian dialogue has entered into a new stage, which was initiated by the heads of two states in May 2017 in Beijing.
In 2018, mutual trade increased by 1.8 times, leading economic structures of Indonesia began implementing large joint chemical projects in Uzbekistan, participating in the creation of cotton cultivation and processing clusters in Kashkadarya and Syrdarya regions, and the reconstruction of a hotel in Samarkand region.
Besides, on a reciprocal basis, a 30-day visa-free regime has been introduced between the sides.
The meeting also discussed other issues on the bilateral agenda.
