Uzbekistan allows women to work in the metallurgy and oil industry

From May 1 of this year in Uzbekistan, bans on the use of female labor in heavy industries and professions will be cancelled. Lifting restrictions is envisaged by the presidential decree on strengthening the guarantees of women's labor rights, adopted on March 7.
The current labor code prohibits women to work in jobs with adverse conditions. In total, the banned list includes 44 types of work at mining, oil and gas enterprises, in ferrous metallurgy, as well as in construction and installation works.
Instead of it, the president ordered to create a list of industries and professions that adversely affect the health of women.
The resolution prohibits terminating, at the initiative of the employer, an employment contract with women of retirement age or upon their attainment of 60 years.
Additionally, in the cases of violation of equal rights of men and women in courts, payment of services rendered to women by lawyers will be borne by the state.
