An administrative liability for hacking and unauthorized use of someone's Wi-Fi has been introduced in Uzbekistan, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
The law "On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring public security", signed by the President, states about it.
In particular, the Administrative code is supplemented by the article 155-2 (illegal (unauthorized) access to the telecommunications network).
According to the new article, "illegal (unauthorized) access to the telecommunications network in the absence of a crime evidence will be subject to a fine on ordinary citizens from ten to twenty, and on officials from twenty to fifty times the minimum wage with confiscation of the device of an offense."
These amendments are addressed to the individuals who are hacking the access code of Wi-Fi and using the Internet traffic of the network owner, which is in fact a theft.
