Wi-Fi, disability support and more: Uzbekistan Railways to expand free services for train passengers
The government of Uzbekistan has approved a new resolution introducing a range of complimentary services for passengers traveling by train. The decision is part of a broader initiative to enhance the quality and accessibility of services in the railway sector.
The resolution, titled "On Approval of the List of State-Regulated and Market-Based Services in the Railway Sector," outlines three key categories:
- State-regulated services: Services governed by state regulations to ensure accessibility and fairness.
- Market-based services: Services provided on a commercial basis, adhering to market principles.
- Complimentary services: Services offered free of charge to passengers.
Complimentary services for passengers
Under the category of free services, passengers will enjoy several amenities during their journey, including:
- Complimentary tea, drinking water, and sugar during train rides.
- Access to Wi-Fi in waiting areas.
- Free use of wheelchairs for passengers with disabilities.
- A dedicated mother-and-child room at railway stations.
The resolution aims to improve the overall travel experience for passengers, ensuring comfort and convenience while fostering customer satisfaction in the railway sector.
