Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father and coach Abdulmannob Nurmagomedov promised to punish his son for his conduct after the bout with the Irishman Conor McGregor, “Ren TV” reports.
“I tell him he is allowed to do anything he wishes inside the octagon, but outside, before the public, he should behave himself. My team is famous for its discipline, so sanctions against him will be even worse than the UFC imposed on him,” Nurmagomedov Sr. said.
He added that he is responsible for the incident.
It should be reminded that on Oct. 7 (Tashkent time), Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted Conor McGregor in the fourth round of epic UFC 229 title fight before chaos descended as the Russian fighter jumped into the crowd to fight Irishman's team-mate Dillon Danis.
UFC president Dana White stated that Khabib Nurmagomedov could be stripped of his title for his behavior.
“We’ll see,” White said when asked about the prospect of Khabib being stripped of the lightweight title. “The Nevada State Athletic Commission is going to hand down some type of fine or suspension, we’ll see. I don’t know. If he gets suspended, it depends how long it is but yeah he will probably get stripped if it’s a long suspension.”
