The Civil Aviation Agency of Uzbekistan has granted operational approval to the Chinese airline Air China to operate regular flights to Uzbekistan on the following routes: Beijing – Tashkent – Beijing and Urumqi – Tashkent – Urumqi, according to a statement from the agency’s press service.
The permit was issued based on the intergovernmental agreement on air transportation between Uzbekistan and China.
The flights will be carried out using Boeing 737-800/8 (MAX) and Airbus A330-300/200 aircraft.
Previously, Uzbekistan Airports reported that Air China would begin operating flights on these routes starting in July, with a frequency of three times per week for each route.
It is worth recalling that as of June 1, a 30-day visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and China has come into effect.
Currently, there are 29 direct flights per week between the two countries, operated by five airlines: Uzbekistan Airways, Qanot Sharq, Centrum Air, China Southern Airlines, and Loong Air.
The current flight schedule is available on the official websites of the respective airlines.
