Migration Agency issues warning to citizens in Japan against illegal work and fraudulent offers
Japan is known for its strict adherence to laws and public order. The Agency for External Labor Migration of Uzbekistan has issued a warning to Uzbek nationals residing in Japan, urging them to be cautious and avoid involvement in illegal activities or suspicious offers.

According to the agency, some individuals may attempt to lure migrants into unlawful work or risky schemes. Uzbeks living in Japan are advised not to fall for the following types of proposals:
- “We can make your salary tax-free” — this is illegal.
- “Let’s work extra hours under the table” — this could violate the terms of your work visa.
- “Come, let’s gamble” — many forms of gambling in Japan are illegal and punishable.
- “Work for a different company, I’ll get you a new residence card” — never use fake or altered ID cards.
- “Use someone else’s bank card” or “Sell your own bank card” — trading or misusing bank cards can lead to serious criminal charges.
Your safety is in your own hands. Before starting any job, always review your official documents and ensure that your visa terms are not being violated.
If you receive any suspicious offers, report them to local authorities or the Embassy of Uzbekistan. More information is available on the website of Japan’s Immigration Services Agency (ISA).
