Uzbekistan, China deepen ties in renewable energy, roadbuilding, and smart logistics

On June 11, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the heads of several major Chinese companies — China State Construction, China General Nuclear Power, CAMCE, Goldwind, and ZTO Express, according to the presidential press service.

During his talks with Zheng Xuexuan, Chairman of the Board of China State Construction, President Mirziyoyev praised the results of joint work on modernizing Tashkent’s road infrastructure. The two sides also discussed future plans for developing cultural facilities in the capital.

An agreement was reached to launch a project for the creation of an industrial zone in the Tashkent region, with the Chinese company also expected to participate in road construction projects in Uzbekistan.

In discussions with China General Nuclear Power chairman Yang Changli, Uzbekistan expressed interest in accelerating geological exploration and the development of new deposits. President Mirziyoyev also endorsed the company’s plans to construct a hybrid solar power plant and implement scanning technologies for customs cargo.

With Wang Bo, Chairman of CAMCE, talks focused on expanding the portfolio of joint initiatives, particularly speeding up energy and infrastructure projects in the New Tashkent development area.

In a separate meeting with Wu Gang, Chairman of Goldwind, both sides exchanged views on advancing green energy cooperation. Agreements were reached to further localize wind turbine production and intensify existing joint projects.

Meanwhile, Hu Xiangliang, head of ZTO Express, informed the Uzbek president of plans to launch an online platform to facilitate customs clearance of goods and develop smart logistics warehouses in the country.
