Uzbekistan and ADB to launch 23 new projects worth $3.6 billion
The next annual meeting of the ADB Board of Governors will be held in Samarkand in May 2026.

Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have agreed to launch a series of new development projects, according to the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade.
From May 6 to 7, a delegation from Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev participated in the 58th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors in Milan. During the event, Uzbekistan was officially announced as the new chair of the ADB Board of Governors for 2025–2026, with Deputy Prime Minister Khodjaev confirmed as the Board's chairman.
The next annual meeting of the ADB Board of Governors will take place in Samarkand in May 2026 — marking the second time Uzbekistan has hosted the event.
During the meeting, Uzbekistan and the ADB signed a program for the implementation of 23 new projects for 2025–2026, with a total funding volume of $3.6 billion. These initiatives will focus on key areas of socio-economic development, including education, water supply, transport, and financial-technical support.
Over the past five years, the ADB has provided the Uzbek government with more than $5.41 billion in financing to support the country’s transition to a green economy, enhance private sector development and competitiveness, and boost investments in human capital.
