According to officials, the former technical college building, located at 2 Zakovat Street in Chirchik, has been abandoned for many years and has deteriorated significantly. As part of a presidential decree, the site has been designated for the establishment of a branch of a prestigious Chinese higher education institution.
Under this decree, a limited liability company named "Chirchik Innovation Gymnasium" has been established by the Chinese company Soniya Group Limited. The company plans to invest $15 million in direct foreign investment to implement the "Modern Gymnasium Establishment" project, creating over 100 new jobs and providing high-quality education for 500 children from families living in Chirchik.
Due to the building’s poor condition, Chirchik Innovation Gymnasium LLC submitted a request for demolition. In response, the Regional Inspection for Control in the Field of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Tashkent Region conducted a visual inspection of the structure and, through letter No. 01/123 dated January 16, 2025, officially approved its demolition.
Additionally, the former technical college building is not included in the National Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage Objects, according to Cabinet of Ministers’ Resolution No. 846, dated October 4, 2019, which outlines the approval of the register.
Previously, the Cadastre Agency refuted rumors that land in Uzbekistan was being sold to foreigners, emphasizing that national law prohibits foreign nationals from owning land.
