During the meeting, Minister Lyakhnovich highlighted the potential benefits of abolishing permit requirements for international freight carriers between Uzbekistan and Belarus. He noted that this step could boost trade turnover between the two countries.
The Belarusian side also expressed its readiness to host the next session of the Belarus-Uzbekistan Joint Commission on International Road Transport in Minsk between March and April of this year.
Discussions also covered projects related to establishing international transport corridors and utilizing the international transport and logistics hub in Termez.
Furthermore, both parties explored the possibility of adopting Belarus' expertise in developing an efficient public transport system, designing airport runways, and implementing road signage standards in Uzbekistan.
