The First Deputy Governor of Tashkent, Bakhtiyor Khaydarov, in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel, stated that the employment plan for the first two months had been fulfilled by 105%, resulting in 137,000 people being employed.
According to the city official, this year, 26 streets in Tashkent, covering a total length of 40 km, are planned to become 24-hour working streets, with thousands of new stores set to open.
Additionally, 176 retail and service points in Tashkent have been identified to transition to 24/7 operations. The First Deputy Governor emphasized that this experience will serve as a basis for further expansion. Around 3,000 new stores are set to open in the capital this year.
Another focus is the efficient use of land plots. More than 400 land plots in Tashkent have been identified for new projects. As part of these initiatives, a selection of entrepreneurs will be made and will receive support. Special inspections will be created to monitor these processes.
Khaydarov also stated that in 2025, it is planned to provide employment for 1.5 million people in Tashkent. To achieve this goal, unemployed individuals will be attracted not only from among the residents of the capital but also from the regions.
