The Central Bank has introduced an online inflation calculator that allows users to determine how much a specific amount of money was worth in the past when adjusted for inflation — or vice versa, to recalculate old prices to present-day values.
The calculations are based on monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) data from reports provided by the Statistics Agency under the President of Uzbekistan. Users simply need to enter the amount, the starting period, and the target year — the system will automatically perform the recalculation.
The tool allows for input of any amount and date from December 1999 to the present.
For example, an essential consumer basket that cost 1,000,000 UZS in January 2020 would be equivalent to 1,640,790 UZS in January 2025.
The calculator also provides additional insights, indicating that over the five-year period, total inflation amounted to 64.08%, the average monthly inflation rate was 0.83%, and the average annual inflation rate stood at 10.41%.
