Gov’t expands social protection for military personnel

Starting March 1, 2025, and continuing through the end of the year, military personnel of the Armed Forces will receive monthly monetary compensation to cover rental housing costs.

A presidential decree titled "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Presidential Decisions to Strengthen the Social Protection of Military Personnel" has been adopted.

The amendments and additions to these decisions include:

  • From March 1, 2025, the monthly monetary compensation for military personnel renting housing will be increased by 20%;
  • From June 1, 2025, military personnel who have served more than 10 years will be eligible to receive an initial payment covering 35% of the housing value when obtaining a mortgage loan for purchasing or constructing a home, in line with legislative regulations on mortgage credit allocation.

According to the amendments made to Presidential Decree No. PD–112 dated June 30, 2005:

  • Between March 1, 2025, and the end of the year, contract-based military personnel — including soldiers, sergeants, and officers — who are not provided with official housing will receive monthly rental compensation within the existing budget framework as follows:
  • Tashkent city – up to 4.8 times the base calculation unit (BCU);
  • Nukus city and regional centers – up to 3.6 times the BCU;
  • Other cities, district centers, and settlements – up to 2.4 times the BCU.

If a military personnel member has three or more family members, their compensation amount will be increased by 50%.

Starting 2026, the Government will annually adjust the monthly rental compensation amounts based on market rental prices in different regions.
