Gov't announces $10,000 monetary support for each WWII veteran

The president has issued a decree titled "On Incentivizing World War II Veterans," granting a one-time monetary award of $10,000 to each World War II veteran. Additionally, individuals equated to war participants will receive 25 million UZS each.

According to the document, May 9 – the Day of Remembrance and Honor will be widely celebrated as a national holiday. Additionally, in connection with the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II, war veterans, disabled veterans, individuals equated to them, as well as those who participated in the labor front during the war years of 1941–1945, will receive financial support.

The one-time monetary awards have been set as follows:

- Each World War II veteran and disabled veteran will receive $10,000;
- Each individual equated to World War II veterans will receive 25 million UZS;
- Each participant of the labor front during the 1941–1945 war years will receive 3 million UZS.

The expenses associated with implementing this decree will be covered by the state budget.

The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city administrations, together with the Ministry of Defense, State Security Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Guard, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Culture, National Agency for Social Protection, Uzbekistan Mahallas Association, Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, and the "Nuroniy" Foundation for Supporting Social Activities of Veterans, will ensure that the monetary awards are presented in a festive and ceremonial manner to World War II veterans and disabled veterans.

The Prime Minister, Abdulla Aripov, has been assigned to oversee the implementation of the decree.
