Over 31,000 drivers penalized for driving under the alcohol influence and refusing sobriety tests

As reported by the Supreme Court’s press service, 31,351 individuals received administrative penalties in the form of fines, driving privilege suspensions, and administrative arrests.

In 2024, 32,999 individuals had 32,723 cases of administrative violations reviewed under Articles 131 and 136 of the Administrative Responsibility Code.

Article 131 pertains to driving a vehicle while intoxicated, while Article 136 addresses the refusal of drivers and other road users to undergo a sobriety test.

Earlier reports indicated that in the previous year, 39,270 cases involving 40,119 individuals were reviewed for traffic violations that resulted in minor bodily harm or significant material damage. Administrative penalties, including fines and license suspensions, were applied to 26,063 individuals.
