"The president specifically emphasized that this project should be international in scope, involving various global organizations," he stated.

In addition to Russian technologies, the construction will incorporate non-nuclear technologies from China, as well as software and hardware systems from Europe.

"We will apply innovative approaches to this project, such as using dry cooling towers from Hungarian or Chinese manufacturers. This is aimed at reducing water consumption at the plant," he explained.

UzAtom has also developed a joint program with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) focused on staff training and ensuring safety in the execution of nuclear projects in Uzbekistan. Akhmedkhadjaev emphasized that, under the country's leadership's instructions, other potential options for implementing similar projects within the republic will also be considered.

Earlier, Kun.uz reported that on February 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan held a meeting to discuss matters concerning the development of nuclear energy in the country.

With significant uranium reserves, Uzbekistan plans to develop long-term nuclear energy capacities. A project for the construction of small modular reactors has already been proposed.
