On February 7, the President hosted a meeting focused on the development of the service sector and the plans for 2025. Zafar Khashimov, the founder of Korzinka and chairman of the supervisory board at Anglesey Food, participated in the discussion.
“We proposed the creation of the Association of Entrepreneurs in the retail and service sectors. The President supported this proposal, and together with nine other founding members, we established the association,” Khashimov said.
According to Khashimov, the association will act as a center of expertise to assist government agencies, existing entrepreneurs, and those planning to enter the business world with the implementation of service sector development strategies. Additionally, the association will play a role in combating poverty and unemployment across the country’s regions.
In an interview with “O'zbekiston 24” TV channel, where Khashimov was introduced as the head of the Association of Retail and Catering Enterprises, he mentioned that companies owned by the association’s founders currently employ 50,000 people. As experts in the service industry, association representatives will travel to regional areas to involve local entrepreneurs in its activities.
Khashimov also highlighted that members of the Association of Retail and Catering Enterprises will not only share their expertise and knowledge but will also contribute to the establishment of new businesses in the regions.
Moreover, Khashimov discussed plans for the Korzinka supermarket chain, which aims to increase the number of 24-hour stores. Last year, only 21 Korzinka supermarkets operated round-the-clock, but this number is expected to rise to 32 in the near future.
