According to the president's decree, officials have been tasked with mobilizing "all forces and resources" to restrict the sale of AI-80 gasoline by the end of 2025. The president's decree also approves the state program for 2025, and by the end of the year, the following two objectives will be pursued with the full mobilization of all available resources:
- Limiting the use and sale of AI-80 gasoline, while ensuring the population has access to high-quality, eco-friendly, and affordable fuel.
- Completely banning the use of fuel oil (Mazut) as a fuel in all heat and electricity generation plants across the country, except in emergency situations, where it may be used as an emergency fuel with prior notification to the Ministry of Ecology and coordination with the Cabinet of Ministers.
It is also important to note that, on September 24, 2024, a presidential decree was issued to ban the use of fuel oil (Mazut) as fuel in heat and electricity generation plants in Tashkent city and the surrounding areas of Tashkent province, starting in 2030. Additionally, a gradual phase-out of fuels that do not meet Euro-4 standards will begin in 2028.
