The operations were carried out by the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, in collaboration with the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Customs Department.
At the residence of citizen Z. B. in the Yakkasaray district, authorities discovered 164 types of pharmaceutical products, valued at 1 billion UZS and totaling 83,597 units. These drugs had been smuggled into the country and were being stored for resale without the necessary quality certificates. The drugs were confiscated as evidence.
In a separate operation in the Urta-Chirchik district of the Tashkent region, authorities found 876 units of five different types of drugs in another individual's home, which were also seized as evidence.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which covers the production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, or sale of substandard or counterfeit drugs and medical devices, the sale of such products outside licensed pharmacies, and violations related to the retail sale of prescription drugs containing potent substances. The investigation is ongoing.
