World Bank projects 5.8% economic growth for Uzbekistan in 2025

Forecast for the coming years

The World Bank predicts that Uzbekistan's economy will grow by 5.8% in 2025 and 5.9% in 2026. These growth rates are among the highest in Europe and Central Asia.

In October 2024, it was also announced that Uzbekistan's GDP would grow by 5.8% in 2025 and 5.9% in 2026.

Earlier reports indicated that Uzbekistan's GDP would increase by 6.5% in 2024, reaching $115 billion.

Forecast for Central Asian countries' economies

According to the World Bank forecast, Kazakhstan's economy is projected to grow by 4.7% in 2025 and 3.5% in 2026.

Kyrgyzstan's economy is expected to grow by 4.5% in both 2025 and 2026.

Tajikistan’s economy grew by 8% in 2022, 8.3% in 2023, and is expected to grow by 8% again in 2024. However, projections suggest a slowdown to 6% growth in 2025 and 5% in 2026.

In December 2024, S&P Global Ratings predicted that Uzbekistan’s economic growth would slow to 5.5% in 2025.
