Last week, representatives of the two entities signed a trilateral memorandum of cooperation with the German company SBH West GmbH. According to the agency, this is the first agreement of its kind between the two countries.

The memorandum outlines the training of 700 Uzbek citizens as bus and truck drivers, as well as train operators. Participants will receive German language instruction and professional retraining at the "Vatanparvar" facilities.

Graduates of the courses will be directly employed in Germany, with monthly salaries ranging from €2,400 to €2,600.

Peter Niemann, the head of SBH West, noted that Germany currently has a shortage of 80,000 transport operators. German employers have recognized the willingness of Uzbeks to undergo language and professional training.

The first group of trainees has already started online German language lessons, and additional groups are expected to be formed in the coming days.

Uzbekistan and Germany agreed to expand labor migration in September 2024. The plans include employing Uzbek auxiliary medical staff in German clinics and specialists for Deutsche Bahn's railway, metro, and bus services.
