The study was carried out by a working group that included employees from the State Ecological Supervision Inspection of the Ministry of Ecology, two environmental departments, emergency services, the National Guard, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Using a mobile laboratory to measure air pollution, the team analyzed pollution levels at nine locations along the Tashkent Ring Road. The results showed a significant increase in PM-2.5 and PM-10 pollutants.

The Ministry of Ecology also reported conducting research in 486 greenhouses. Of these, 46 were seasonal and lacked boilers. Specifically, 16 were in the Zangiata district, 10 in the Qibray district, 4 in the Tashkent district, 11 in the Yunusabad district, and 5 in the Mirzo Ulugbek district.

As a result of inspections, 37 greenhouse owners were fined for violating boiler operation regulations, and 46 greenhouses had their operations suspended.

Additionally, 426 greenhouse owners were warned about the necessity to install air and gas filtration equipment that complies with environmental standards, as well as a ban on using rubber waste and other materials as fuel.

Greenhouses without gas

In the fall of 2022, many greenhouse owners reported interruptions in gas supply. The Ministry of Energy clarified that the switch to "alternative fuel" was a mandatory condition in gas supply agreements.

At that time, Sardor Umurzakov, who was the head of the Presidential Administration, ordered the urgent restoration of gas supply to greenhouses to preserve their crops. He also instructed that financial assistance be provided to farms struggling to pay for energy.

Throughout 2023, there were repeated announcements about measures to transition greenhouses from gas to coal. To encourage this process, subsidies, preferential loans, and compensation for the purchase of coal boilers were offered.

On December 12, 2024, "Hududgaztaminot" JSC announced temporary restrictions on gas supply to greenhouses. These measures were introduced due to a sharp drop in temperature and were expected to be lifted once gas pressure was restored.
