Death toll of Uzbek citizens from alcohol poisoning in Türkiye reaches 10
The Consulate General in Istanbul reported that the number of Uzbek citizens who have died from alcohol poisoning in Türkiye has reached 10.

On January 15, the Consulate General received reports of 4 citizens (all men) who passed away after consuming counterfeit alcoholic beverages. On January 14, it was reported that 6 citizens had died under similar circumstances.
Diplomats from the Consulate General are maintaining regular contact with Istanbul’s health authorities, forensic medical examination departments, and law enforcement agencies regarding this incident. Additionally, the consulate is responding to inquiries received via its telephone hotlines.
The Consulate General urges all citizens to refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages and to exercise caution.
